Lynbrook students are lucky as their teachers pull from a variety of resources to deliver engaging, hands-on math activities. The teachers also adapt resources to differntiate work for their students. While doing this they are always keeping the end-goal in mind and making sure that students are meeting the expectations of the New York State Standards. Math lessons include a combination of the eight Standards for Mathematical Practice:
1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.
2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
4. Model with mathematics.
5. Use appropriate tools strategically.
6. Attend to precision.
7. Look for and make sense of structure.
8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
