Where can we learn about Banned Books?  Try these suggestions…

 

 

 

1)      Open the “Banned Books” portal in Opposing Viewpoints in Context. Go to Library Databases, then to NOVEL GALE

 

2)      Search “Banned Books” or specific books on the website of the American Library Association at http://www.ala.org

 

3)      Find details about Brave New World, The Catcher in the Rye, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and Fahrenheit 451 in GVRL (Gale Virtual Reference Library)  Go to Library Databases, then to EDISON GALE

 

4)      See the Butler University libguides page  http://libguides.butler.edu/bannedbooks?p=217686

 

5)      Read the commentary in The Atlantic (magazine) https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2016/10/how-banned-books-marginalize-children/502424/

 

6)      Search "The Library Bill of Rights" and interpretations on the American Library Association website.
