Systems of Equations
For this topic students must be able to determine if a point is a solution for a set of equations. They also need to be able to correctly solve, graph, and label a system of equations properly.
Examples are:
Solve each system of equations to find the solution.
1) y = 5x
y - x = 8
2) 2x = 3y
x + 2y = 7
3) x + 2y = 5
3x + y = 10
4) y = 2x + 11
y = -x + 5
5) y = 4x - 3
y = 5x - 1
Determine if each point is a solution.
6) (-2, 3)
x + y = 1
y = -2
7) (-2, 3)
y = 2x + 7
x = y - 4
