Course Requirements

    Students taking Math 8 are required to take quarterly exams as well as a state exam in March.  In order to be successful on these exams students will be expected to come to class everyday with all their materials.  This includes a scientific calculator, a 1- 2 binder, loose leaf paper, and pencils.  Failure to be prepared will only hurt the students chance of success.

    The make up of the class is designed to foster student thinking and problem solving.  in order to be successful it is important for the students to be able to struggle with problems rather than be given the answers.

    Students will be evaluated by group work in the classroom as well as homework, tests, and quizzes.  Students will be notified when a test is coming but quizzes are not always announced.  Homework will be given on a daily basis and all problems should be attempted if not completed.
