My Philosophy of Education

Learning remains constantly important to my family and me. This leads me to bringing this interest and concern for learning about the world to my classroom and the children I teach. I enjoy the interest that is developed in my students every year.

I Grew Up

I grew up in New Lebanon, New York, and I attended schools there and colleges in this area. I love the Northeastern part of the United States, but also the Southwest. My husband and I enjoy traveling, and we have ventured off to many countries and states. Our caring about the welfare of the Earth leads us on many adventures.

My Hobbies

My hobbies are always Reading, and of course, Sailing, Hiking, and Cooking.

Favorite Books

To Kill a Mockingbird and The Red Tent are books I enjoy, but in class I try to interest my students in many authors such as Natalie Babbitt, Dan Gutman, Katherine Paterson, Karen Hess, Gary Paulsen and many others.

Why I Do What I Do

I do what I do because the children around me each day keep me thinking young. They connect me with the world, and I just plain like that!

My Family

My family has grown a great deal. I have three grown children and six grandchildren.  We enjoy animals and the nature that surrounds us.
