What will students be doing in Studio Art?
Throughout the school year in Studio Art students will be exploring multiple artists, art movements, events through Art History, and, "The Elements and Principles of Art." All of this will be happening while students are creating their own artwork and building a well-rounded portfolio. Many techniques, processes and art media will be investigated, including; Photography, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Graphic Design, and Sculpture. By the end of this course students will be leaving with the understanding and basic skills needed to create a variety of artworks utilizing multiple media.
Current Project: Facial Proportions - Students are working on a 1/2 face drawing where they finish a celebrity face by using their knowledge of proportions and value.
Continuing Project: "Sketchbook Assignments" Students will have 5 sketchbook assignments to complete each quarter. They should take 30-40 minutes each. Their sketchbook grade will be averaged in as a project grade at the end of the quarter!

- Logo Designs (Using their own initials students designed Logos for a company themed by their choice)

We are about to start Self Portraits that will be completed in charcoal!
