EXPLORATION...COLLABORATION...INQUIRY
Families,
This school year we are embarking on a new adventure! Students will be brought to my classroom (room 401) instead of staying with their individual homeroom teacher for Science. For your child, this means more responsibility and more independence!
During Science instruction, students will have a stronger role in the classroom. It is expected that students will utilize the Scientific Method, ask thoughtful questions and be actively engaged in the learning process. Students will collect data and be encouraged to work within teams of their peers to investigate various scientific concepts. This will focus student learning from simply knowledge and comprehension to application and analysis (essential skills in today's complex world).
It is my intention to have students engage in thought-provoking, open-ended discussions, as well as participate in experiments and projects.
In my classroom, I help your child to achieve by having:
- extremely high expectations for EVERY child
- a positive attitude that all children can and will succeed
- an integrated curriculum that meets every learning objective
- small group instruction so all students may excel
- clear & consistent communication
