I forgot my password/username. How can I find out what it is?

Go to the NYLearns homepage and click the "Forgot Password" link. Fill in the information and your login credentials will be emailed to you.

I filled out the "Forgot Password" form an hour ago and still haven't received an email. How can I receive my login information?

If it has been some time since you completed the "Forgot Password" form, you may want to contact the help desk via email (helpdesk@nylearns.org) or phone (1.800.590.6126) to verify the email address where the information is being sent.

I received an email with my login information, but I didn't request it. Why did I receive this email?

Someone may have possibly been trying to impersonate you and login to your account or may have input their login information incorrectly. In order to keep your account secure, you may want to change your password and create a strong password that includes a combination of both numbers and letters.

My name is spelled wrong. How do I change it?

Simply navigate to My Profile, correct the spelling of your name, and click Save.

I recently changed my name. How can I update my username to reflect this change?

You can notify us at NYLearns of the change by filling out the form at Contact Us or send an email to the help desk at helpdesk@nylearns.org.

I am teaching in a different school building or district. How can I change my school organization?

If you have changed buildings within the same district, you should be able to update the school name by going to My Profile and School Information. In the right hand side of the screen is a drop-down menu with the school name you were associated with when your NYLearns account was created. Find the name of the new school within this menu and click Save. If your school name is not in the list, or you have changed school districts, please notify us and we will make the update for you. Simply click Contact Us or send an email to the help desk at helpdesk@nylearns.org.

What is the Curriculum Matrix tool? What is the purpose of the My Curriculum tool?

The My Curriculum tool enables Districts to make their Curricula available to their teachers in an easy-to-gather format. Teachers then have the ability to view the District Curricula and add them to their "My CMs" and "My IMs" repositories. Once a teacher has made an Instructional Map out of a District CM, they can then insert Teacher Notes into each row of the Curriculum Map, enabling teachers to store reminders and insights about how to effectively use the content in the Curriculum Map. These IMs can be shared with colleagues as well, enabling teachers to share Instructional Strategies.

How do I change my password?

In order to change your password, you will want to go to NYLearns and log in using your existing username and password. Once you log in, you will want to click on My Profile in the red registered tools section on the left hand side of the screen. Underneath the section that says Username, in the right hand side about halfway down the page, is a link to Change Password. 


Click on the Change Password link. A new window will open that will ask for your current password, and then for you to enter in a new password.

Once you complete the form, click Submit and your password will be updated.
