Welcome Parents & Students~
I am looking forward to a fun and prosperous school year. By the end of this year the Spanish 2 students will know at least 2,500 words in Spanish and able to write a 100+ word essay...with little or no difficulty, and the Spanish 3 students will be ready for the NYS Regents Exam in Spanish. This year we are offering Spanish 4 in the fall and Spanish 5 in the spring through Hudson Valley Community College. Provided students complete the appropriate paperwork and pay for the credits ($45) a credit, they can finish up the 2010-2011 school year with 6 college credits of a foreign language. This is the number of credits required for most degree programs at the college level.
Students need to bring their supplies to class everyday.
As per the MS/HS handbook, backpacks are to be stored in lockers and not to be carried around.
SUPPLIES:
Folder - students need to bring their folder to class with them everyday in order to save papers handed out in class.
Papers that are "stored" in a notebook have a tendency to disappear--making it difficult to complete assignments.
Notebook - a one-subject notebook
*Spanish/English dictionary - this is not a required item but it would be beneficial to have and can be purchased for
as low as $1. Students should keep these at home.
Another option is to use an online dictionary such as:

Please do not hesitate to contact me at the school or through e-mail if you have a questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Ms. Karen Day
