WELCOME TO A CLASSROOM "OWL" About 4th and 5th Grade!!

Hi and welcome to Ms. Schager's Fourth and Fifth Grade class website. Fourth and Fifth Grade is such an exciting learning adventure. It is a time for students to develop independence, responsibility and become life long learners. In Room 304, we are a family of Owl's that work, laugh, and learn together. Our goal is to always try our best and think positive!

This year is a challenging and rewarding year, filled with wonderful educational experiences. In reading, we are developing our reading comprehension and listening skills. Remember to make reading an important part of your family routine. In math, it is so important to make sure your child reviews their facts nightly. We will start out by reviewing multiplication and division, and also develop upon our problem solving skills. Then, we will begin fractions and algebra. In science, throughout the year we will study structures of life, Magnetism and Electricity, Forces and Machines, and Life Cycles. In social studies, we will start by discussing maps, globes and graphs and then begin our New York Unit. This year, we will travel around New York learning about the different cultures and traditions.

Here are several important reminders:

*Please be sure to check your child's Homework folder and Agenda book every night for homework, quizzes/tests to be reviewed and signed, as well as important class and school notices.

*Make sure to check skedula of all grades

*I look forward to working with you and we know this will be an outstanding year. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to give me a call at school, write a note, or email me at mschager@schools.nyc.gov
