7th Grade Regular Science
10 weeks: Cells, Microscopes, Plant Structure and Function
20 weeks: Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration, Cell Division, Reproduction
30 weeks: Heredity, Genetics, Biological Diversity and Adaptation, Metamorphosis
40 weeks: Classification, Ecology, Food Chains/Webs, Environmental Science
7th Grade Acceleration/CAP Science
10 weeks: Properties of Matter, Physical and Chemical Changes, Mixtures and Solutions, Particle Theory of Matter
20 weeks: Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration, Ecology, Food Chains/Webs, Environmental Science
30 weeks: Reproduction and Development, Cell Division
40 weeks: Genetics, Biological Diversity and Adaptation
There are no New York State Science Assessments in 7th Grade. Students will take a district-wide midterm and final exam. The midterm exam will count as 20% of the grade for the 20 week marking period and the final exam will count as 20% of the grade for the 40 week marking period.
