Homework is about quality not quantity. There are plenty of homework opportunities for all students if the workload required does not meet your satisfaction. Required homework each evening is not lengthy but it is designed to keep kids thinking about those skills that they should already have mastered or at least are very familiar with. Typically formal homework is not assigned on days before a day off so most Friday’s and days before holidays assignments are not given. This doesn’t mean children shouldn’t continue to practice their basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division facts. Automaticity is the ability to solve problems with relative ease and our goal in room 244 is to minimize the use of  fingers when doing computational math.
